Summer will soon transition into Fall, and as that annual change approaches, musical soundscapes tend to shift as well. Gone are the party-driven turn-up anthems, and ushered in are more introspective and relaxing sounds. the outlook, based out of San Marcos, Texas, seem to be way ahead of the sound curve with the release of their self-titled debut EP. This short but powerful set of songs echos bands the likes of The Clientele, Yo La Tengo, and a score of other underground rock and roll champions. I am looking forward to catching a live show, or hoping that visual material is put to some of these songs. Give it a listen, a share, a download, and maybe a buck or two if you so choose.
