As cutting edge and ahead of the curve as Moodie Black can be, they have one consistent quality about them : an EP release following each full length release. These four song gems have always been high-quality work, and I I I keeps the tradition going while pushing the envelope in terms of K‘s vocals (both in the topic choices and the way they are mixed into the track, which is much more up front than normal). The sense of urgency found in this collection of songs matches the times, but the sound stays fresh and unique, something that us Moodie Black fans have come to love and expect. I imagine this is the predecessor to another full length project, and I know K has been lacing all kinds of folks (myself included) with production, so I know she’ll be on point for whatever Moodie Black has lined up next. Dig this one and dig it good.
