The summer of 2020 gave a lot of creatives space to explore, and with COVID-19 causing him to be laid off from his day job, Kinder had plenty of time to explore said space. In addition, he had just acquired a MV8800, which, in his words, “allowed (him) to completely change my work flow by sequencing out of the box”, meaning that his world of synthesizers and drum machines were no longer constrained to their sequencing abilities and could be combined prior to digital export. Now, it’s not like Kinder needs additional tools to excel, but with new freedom allowed to a mind already renowned for pushing equipment to its limits, it makes sense that the output would be nothing short of mind blowing. Synthesizers, drum machines and live instrumentation are blended together with vocal samples and textures from a handful of unique public domain sources.
