When it comes to Texas emcees, EVOLVE is always going to get props in my book. His work ethic puts many other peers to shame, his willingness to collaborate is inspirational, and his approach to the bars makes him stand out in an otherwise congested scene. His latest collaborative effort is with producer SWAB, which is (ironically?) titled Out for Self. The first single, the driving and powerful Phoenix, finds EVOLVE covering a topic that he knows quite well : rising above doubters and naysayers by staying true to yourself… a truly inspirational message that we can all use in these trying times.
