The art of the remix is one that is vast, far reaching, and full of room to establish a unique identity. This is what makes it so special when a song like The Chase by The Vapor Caves is put out in the world for producers to revamp, and those like Dynja take the opportunity to make the song completely new and fresh. Dynja flipped the tempo and feel of the song, turning a New Jack Swing-influenced hip-hop/R&B track into a spacey, high energy dance track. On top of all of that, the song also got the video treatment in the most tasteful way possible, showing how vibes translate from one person to another in an infectious way. Good stuff all around.

Stimulated Stems :: The Vapor Caves Share Remixes Of ‘The Chase’

After a successful start to the year, The Vapor Caves decided to have a little fun by making the stems for their single The Chase public and available for producers to remix. Several notable talents stepped up to the challenge, and The Vapor Caves have set about making a playlist to collect them all like Pokemon. So far, Butcher Bear, DJ LADDDA, DJ Boozwa and the Nodes of Thought, Madd Wikkid, Multi-Tracker and even myself have gotten in on the act, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there were more on the list by the time this post goes public. I’ll definitely be following this playlist, and I even have a few producers in mind that I think could make dope remixes, so you should probably stay tuned as well.

With the release of The Chase, the duo is looking like they are stepping things up to another level right in front of our eyes. Not only did they drop a brilliant promotional campaign for the single, but the song gained placement in the upcoming premier for the final season of the wildly successful Broad City on Comedy Central, airing tonight (January 24).
