Nobody’s Business :: Ceschi Rocks ‘Beauty For Bosses’ Acapella For SXSW

You never know when an artist is going to zone out and channel some realness for you on stage… that’s the beauty of when a passionate artist like Ceschi is given the chance to spill his soul in front of a crowd.  At this past SXSW, he performed Beauty For Bosses off of the recently released Broken Bone Ballads, an album I am very much looking forward to taking in.  Mad props to Fake Four for keeping things unflinchingly real in this world of falsification.

Good Combinations :: Cap’N Kirk And Click-Clack’s ‘FMBO e’klektik’

Back when I first heard Click-Clack‘s Housework II, one of the standout moments was the track Visionsfeaturing Cap’n Kirk of the Austin hip-hop massive SubKulture Patriots.  Hearing Kirk on Click-Clack‘s production really had me wanting to hear more.  Here we are, a few months later, and FMBO e’klektik has touched down.  I will have to return for a full review in the near future, but my initial listening sessions have been thoroughly enjoyable.  Check it out for yourselves, and don’t forget to share it with others.

Build A Bridge :: SniperShot Is ‘Walkin On Clouds’

SniperShot is one of the more interesting artists I’ve come across in my years of Texas hip hop.  He isn’t one to shy away from normal conventions, yet his headspace is completely different when it comes to how he views these conventions.  Of the many songs and videos he has made, this one in particular does a good job of visualizing the vibe I get when I listen to SniperShot‘s music.  Walkin On Clouds is as mysterious and esoteric as it is a head nodder of a hip hop track.

Niche Exploration :: KIBO’s ‘Elements’

While cruising through Facebook recently, I came across a post from my man Kilmatik about how folks should dig a little deeper into their local music scenes, and not just follow the crowds.  As an example of an artist who could use a little more recognition, he posted the following video by KIBO, and it definitely got my attention.  Dig.

An Honest Look :: B-SimmS And His ‘Perfect Imperfections’

B-SimmS is getting down and dirty with the self-reflection on this project.  Never one to follow the trends, and always one to speak his mind, Perfect Imperfections allows B-SimmS to was poetic for our pleasure, so return the favor and give him a share… maybe even through him a buck or two.
