Terror Trilogy :: Dem Beach Boys Strike Again With ‘No Place Like Home’

Everyone’s favorite trope exploring, politically radical, rhythmically gifted rap crew is back for election season.  Dem Beach Boys figured the best way to wrap up Donald Trump‘s recent term would be to drop No Place Like Home, a damning examination of how the cultural temperature has shifted from warm to well past the boiling point over the last four years.  Be it racial divides, denying immigrants basic civil rights, or the gradual growth of a police state, Dem Beach Boys check all the hot button boxes with clever, biting lyrical darts.  This one isn’t for the satirically-challenged, so if you’ve got a thick skin and aren’t smooth-brained, check it out, leave a like and a comment, and kick up some dust by sharing it around.

Painful Reality :: Ryan Darbonne Brings Darkness To Light Via ‘Died Screaming’ Visual

In the wake of Space Camp Death Squad splintering off into the exploration of their own creative ventures, it was cool to see Ryan Darbonne push forward as a director, and though we often spoke of music, I wondered what his next musical steps would be.  After the hilariously entertaining Dem Beach Boys video, it appeared obvious that his penchant for storytelling (both visually and narratively) would be a focus moving forward, but I had no warning or prior knowledge of his plans for the recently released Died Screaming.  What I do know, however, is that both the song and the video made a serious impact on me, and it feels like a 25th hour contender for video of the year.  There’s a lot going on in this one, and rather than hear me deep dive into this one, I recommend you check it out and share it on your own.  Definitely don’t forget to like it and leave a comment.  And, as always, support your local creatives.

Party Lines :: Dem Beach Boys Strike Again With ‘Down With GOP’

It’s been about a year since Dem Beach Boys, the self proclaimed ‘only conservative hip-hop group in America‘, dropped GOP Ain’t Nuthing to F’ With.  In that time, they’ve been working hard on their debut mixtape, Dem Pet Sounds, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t ready to strike when the time is appropriate.  As Early Voting came to a close, the crew dropped another banger in the form of Down With GOP, an incredibly smart and well-crafted satiric look at polarizing thought that tends to separate us rather than unite us as citizens in the America experiment.  The crew use both style and interpolation-esque references to several classic hip-hop songs, and they even manage to stick a skit in the middle that is (sadly) a bit too relevant in terms of its truth.  There’s nothing to be sad about, though, as this track (and video) not only make you laugh, but think as well.  Go vote, give this video a like and a comment, and share it around so that everyone on your timeline can get all worked up and offended, because that’s the way of things today.
