Music To My Ears :: Soundfounder’s ‘Cinnamon & Waterloo’

From the digital desk of iN(sect) Records:

‘(soundfounder) has taken a long strange trip from where his first LP, Complete Dream Home left us.  Dirty MPC loops, with tons of analog gear stacked on top of used vinyl, although most of his sampling on Cinnamon & Waterloo comes by way of having a direct line to a local Austin studio’s master tapes.  Those vaults containing every kind of genre, instrument, breaks, noises you can think of.  He has spent his time the last couple of years, bending and manipulating these studio sounds into what we can only say, is a pure original piece of music.

Epic in it’s scope, the music feels very familiar and completely new.  We’ve known soundfounder since the beginning of the iN, and we can say this is a huge progression from this producer living in our homebase, Austin, TX.’

Mood Music :: Kinder Releases ‘Tourney’

(iN)Sect Records alumni Kinder has recently dropped a new album… Tourney picks up where the self-titled debut left off, and improves on the already dense textures Kinder is known for weaving.  This one covers a deep spectrum of sound, and will more than likely raise Kinder‘s profile to a place it deserves to be in terms of today’s electronic architects.  Dig it, buy it, and spread the word.

Maintain The Rock :: Anthony Maintain Keeps Feeding You

My favorite Bruin fan, Anthony Maintain, has been hella busy in the studio lately.  After sneak previewing the world to The Elephant Race before it was picked up by iNSECT Records, he has steadily worked on and released high quality music, both old and new.

Shortly after The Elephant Race was pulled in order to prepare for its official release (and its companion piece full of remixes by myself and other Exploded Drawing alumni), Maintain released The Elephant Runtsa collection of work that didn’t quite make the cut for the LP, but are still worth a listen.

Recently, Maintain just returned off of a winter tour back to his hometown of Boston.  In preparation for the tour, he put together an exclusive compilation of old work, new work, and guest appearances.  This comp features appearances by Onry Ozborn, Homeroom, Click-Clack and myself, and many more.  Dig it and dig it good…

Stay tuned… there will be much more coming from his direction in the near future.

Again And Again :: Cookin’ with Lo-Phi

You know how it goes… some people put in so much work, that just as you’re done giving them props about one project, another project comes down the chute.  Lo-Phi is gearing himself up for a busy 2012.

JOIN THE STUDIO . COM
LNS & Exploded Drawing team member Lo-Phi enjoys the finer things in life. Good music, good vibes and, most of all, good food to go along with it. Watch him whip up some tamales alongside sick beats.

Lo-Phi’s full length debut on (iN)Sect Records out January 13th!

Coming Soon :: Lo Phi presents “Slamma Jamma”

While doing my daily Facebook rounds, I noticed a post from the homie BoomBaptist concerning a new release from the Exploded Drawing camp.

Friday, January 13 2012 marks the release of Slamma Jamma by the incomparable Lo Phi.  Cop that.
