soundfounder has been hyping this up for a moment, and now that moment is finally here… after securing a digital domain, rounding up talent, and putting all of the logistical ducks in a row, soundfounder has proudly introduced the world to Other Radio Texas, an online radio channel designed to cater to underground Texas creators and those that support them. Out of the many people in line to assist on the air, I was one of the lucky ones selected, so be sure to keep an open for mixes from my show Escapism on occasion. Big things are in store for the radio station, so keep yourself locked in for details and updates!

On almost a daily basis, the homies from Austin continue to make me proud. This time, it’s my Exploded Drawing brethren (and co-founders of the movement) soundfounder and Butcher Bear doing it big. They recently took a trip to Los Angeles to spread the goodness that is Exploded Drawing, and while in the area they made two very important stops for mix sets. The pair made a stop at CultureRemixed.com for a mix set and an interview, as well as a mix set stop at dublab, both of which are filled with obscure goodness and local tunage. I’m proud to be a member of the crew, and happy for everything that they’ve accomplished and continue to accomplish… at this point, there’s truly no ceiling for the possibilities in regards to Exploded Drawing and its continued rise.

A big happy birthday shoutout to the homie soudfounder. Enjoy him doing what he does best…
From the digital desk of iN(sect) Records:
‘(soundfounder) has taken a long strange trip from where his first LP, Complete Dream Home left us. Dirty MPC loops, with tons of analog gear stacked on top of used vinyl, although most of his sampling on Cinnamon & Waterloo comes by way of having a direct line to a local Austin studio’s master tapes. Those vaults containing every kind of genre, instrument, breaks, noises you can think of. He has spent his time the last couple of years, bending and manipulating these studio sounds into what we can only say, is a pure original piece of music.
Epic in it’s scope, the music feels very familiar and completely new. We’ve known soundfounder since the beginning of the iN, and we can say this is a huge progression from this producer living in our homebase, Austin, TX.’

There are TOO many people on this compilation to list, but trust me, every time that soundfounder and Butcher Bear get together to show the world what Exploded Drawing has in store for the year, it’s a hit. Throw in A Better Tomorrow handling the sonic polishing, and we’re in it to win it. I’m especially proud of this one, because I have a track on here from the upcoming instrumental release Slow Burnout, plus a collaboration from Butcher Bear‘s upcoming album with BoomBaptist. Dig it, share it, and support your local underground movement!

Exploded Drawing is an endless abyss of talent… mad buttons getting pushed in our collective. Every year during SXSW, the kind folks that curate the monthly event take the time to put together a retrospective of those involved with the family. Here’s 2014, and it’s a banger.

from the digital desk of Dublab:
“We are continuing our exploration of Entomology from audio angles in conjunction with the esteemed researchers of Insect Records. After having heard sonic reports from Lo Phi and Kinder we move onto groundbreaking finds from Soundfounder. Activate your antenna and enjoy this session flying high on buzzing wings and iridescent shells.”
The creative minds behind Exploded Drawing have come together once again to form some audio-visuals worth your while. “Spilled Nip” is a gem from my man soundfounder‘s solo LP Complete Dream Home, and with Butcher Bear on the visuals, you know it’s dope. Take a second for some audio-visual hypnotism, won’t you?
