Spotlight On Podcasts :: Death In Amber

A statement from Death In Amber:

Death in Amber is the opportunity for hidden, forgotten gems to get their due. Thanks to the internet, there is an ability to get those songs out so that people can hear them again, or for the first time.

Many musicians have spent a lot of time, money and effort recording their bands only to never have the opportunity to showcase that music to people. Bands break up, change names and members, and disappear, many times leaving a closet full of recordings that never see the light of day. Death in Amber gives it to you. Played. Captured. Preserved.

The Word Association :: Now on Bandcamp!

For those of you familiar with the life of an independent, unsigned music group, you know that sometimes it is hard to keep your albums in print.  The Word Association was no different… several project were released, and they were available for a time.  With the exception of a random copy of lucid. or Two Producers floating around somewhere, The Word catalog is no longer in print… due to the magic of Bandcamp, it will live forever online.  Enjoy!

Beat Marauders :: The Return Visit

Once again, I will be performing at Beat Marauders, the weekly producer showcase held by DJ Notion and MusicNMind.  Nowadays, the event is held at Gypsy Lounge, and it has turned into a contest, judged by the crowd, with a $100 prize to the winner.

This week’s performers include Elles Infinite, Homeroom, Tony Dark, and sets by DJ Notion.  Don’t miss out, the kid needs all the support he can get!

New Music Alert :: Kinder

The other night, I played a show at Wake The Dead Coffee House (SMTX).  The usual suspects were there, but there was one cat I’d never seen around before.  He told me that others told him we should meet, and we had a fast paced conversation about lots of cool music.  Then he left me sitting with his laptop, and he asked me to listen to his music.

Now, I’m asking you to listen to his music.  It’s dope.  If you’re a fan of Flying Lotus, Boards of Canada, Yppah, Samiyam, or any number of new artists breaking ground in what I would refer to as digital jazz, then you will be into Kinder.
