Harmonic Resonance :: ‘Slow Burnout’ Audio-Visual Hits The Internet

I’ve been busy this month.  It’s time to start making my audio-visual output match the size of my catalog.  Here is another in a line of recent visual pieces created for my music.. this one for Slow Burnout, off the album of the same name.  Dig it and dig it good!

Universal Soul :: Mr. Composition Shows The ‘Seat Of The Soul’

San Antonio hip-hop wordsmith Kevin Prince (often known as Mr. Composition) has put together a solid video for Seat of The Soul.  The song, featuring a quick assist from Avitt Green and Hacksaw, is a testimonial about getting lost in the creative process, and all that comes with it.  The video has that classic 90’s vibe to it.  Definitely good stuff, and definitely worth your time.

Good Combinations :: Onry Ozzborn’s ‘Duofilm’

Just push play, because it’s pointless trying to sell this little piece of amazing presented to us via Onry Ozzborn.  Lots of familiar faces in this one.

Unstoppable Objects :: MDK Drops New Video

I’m consistently impressed by the work ethic shown via the Mindz of a Different Kind crew.  They’ve been downright prolific for the past year or so in terms of creative output, and that trend seems like it will continue.  The latest video is No Sleep No Breaks pt. 2, featuring bars from almost every member of the crew.  You know the drill.. like it, share it, and subscribe to their YouTube channel for the latest output.

Last Words :: Tank Washington Shows Us ‘Never’

LNS crew member Tank Washington is setting himself up for a solid 2016.  His long-awaited debut album Pain is set to be released soon, and he’s setting off the charge with the release of his first single and video, Never.  This song and video remind me of that transition period in the 90s where hip-hop wasn’t afraid to get deeply personal, but the tone and approach were shifting into something new.  I look forward to hearing and seeing what Tank and the rest of the LNS cats have in store for us this year.

Stand Up :: ‘Chairs Missing’ Audio-Visual Now Available From Chief And TheDoomsdayDevice

I, Chief Doomsday, am a machine when it comes to the creativity.  I am hoping that one day the quality of my work in reality matches what I see in my head.  Every day, I make steps closer to achieving that goal.  While not a masterpiece, I feel that Chairs Missing is a major step in the right direction in terms of where I want to be.  If this is the low bar for the rest of my audio-visual output, I can accept that.

Honesty Policy :: Da’Shade Moonbeam’s ‘Girl Song’ Audio-Visual

Here’s a dope audio-visual from the longtime homeboy Da’Shade Moonbeam for his introspective Girl Song.  The approach is similar for the video and the song.. never judge a book by it’s cover, because being pleasantly surprised is one of the best parts of male-female interaction.  I’m definitely looking forward to more material from Guerilla Reel.

Hometown Props :: Orthy’s ‘Oasis’

Oasis isn’t particularly new or anything, but there’s nothing wrong with taking a moment to reflect on your hometown and all that it has shaped you into.  Orthy is a childhood friend of mine, and both of us knew way back then that we would be making music as adults.  Oasis in video form manifested into a love letter to Austin, the town that shaped us into the men we are.  Enjoy some beautiful drone footage of the ‘Live Music Capitol of the World’!

Family Dynamics :: HADES Discusses ‘The Long Con’

from the digital desk of HADES:

“If you watched True Detective, you probably remember a subplot about cultish schools taking advantage of “troubled” kids.  It was far from the weirdest thing in the show, but for most of you it likely seemed as fictional as everything else going on around it.  But as Austin emcee, producer and label head HADES can tell you, there actually is a vast network of creepy cultish programs taking advantage of adolescents and their parents– he should know, he was forcibly entered into one for 17 months and still suffers PTSD as a result.

HADES and his collaborator Lily Speerbrecker spoke up about their experiences in one of these programs way back on HADES’ debut album I Hate It Here with the track The Long Con, but last week one of the largest of these programs, the Midwest Academy, was investigated for large scale sexual abuse of minors and a few days ago it began to shut down operations and lay off workers.  Despite this, MWA continues to claim innocence and even launched a crowd funding campaign to counter the investigation, which in turn provoked survivors like HADES to launch a counter-petition.  This is also why HADES has decided to revisit The Long Con in advance of his similarly themed new album You Can’t Spell Confidence Without Con and self-direct a video for the track, detailing the brainwashing methods of the Midwest Academy and encouraging others to get involved in shutting down other such programs around the country.  The video includes info on anti-MWA petitions as well as Speerbrecker’s Safe Teen Schools organization, which is dedicated to breaking the code of silence these programs instill.  We are premiering this track in the hopes of helping HADES spread the information on these detestable programs.

Please sign this petition to investigate systematic child abuse at Midwest Academy and help take out a leg of an evil umbrella corporation in America known as WWASP and affiliates.”
