Cold Facts :: ‘Piggy’ By Ghost Palace

New music has hit the streets from Ghost Palace, and it’s got crosshairs dead set on the temperature of the streets right now.  At the risk of depressing myself, I will not list the amount of American citizens that have fallen victim to policing in the recent past, but know that Piggy serves as a deep look at the ills of those meant to protect and serve.  Required viewing if you don’t understand why people are upset right now.

At Home Off The Dome :: Zeale’s Stagelight Freestyle Friday Rewind Session

When I first met Zeale, it was in the realm of freestyling and battling.  I was the war weary, grizzled veteran.  He was the hungry new soldier, itching to get a taste of blood.  Cut to many years later, and Zeale is on a trajectory to be a household name.  He has kept true to his roots, however, and he keeps the freestyle blade sharp.  Check out this retrospective videos of some of his best moments from his Freestyle Friday series.

The Virtue :: ‘Patience’ From Kydd Jones

It’s nice to see cats step out of their comfort zone.  I’m sure Kydd Jones could just keep dropping bars and beats if he wanted to, but Patience shows us that he is willing to follow whatever direction his spirit moves him.  This video is getting all sorts of attention, so don’t be the last to get hip.

Eyes Open :: Clemits’ NYC Graf Pictures

Clemits MSG and Dubb Sicks recently did an East Coast tour swing, and as everyone knows, no East Coast tour is complete without a stop in NYC.  On top of the music, Clemits took the time to document some of the graffiti that caught his eye.  Check it out :

Double Dosage :: New Singles From Austin Artists

While doing my daily combing through social media over the past few weeks, I’ve come across a handful of cool songs that I don’t want to be missed in the shuffle of individual articles.  Here are two of those songs… a remix of BLXPTN‘s Train (Get Out) by R. Radna, and a Kydd Jones track blessed by Anya.  You know the drill.. enjoy, download, share, and so on.

New Slop Musket tunes, and this time around, the guys are shooting for bigger and better things.  They just recently returned from a successful stint at the Gathering of the Juggalos, and God only knows what the future holds for this talented bunch of guys.  Check out the video for the first single off of Land, a collaborative effort with DVZN Media called FIX.

Out To Sea :: Ceschi Live Footage Of ‘Galapagos (For The Fish)’

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I’m sure… Ceschi is easily the most wholly unique entity in hip-hop on any level.  The guy can rap on the level of cats like Bone Thugs, where replication of his style is not easy, and yet, with a guitar in hand, he becomes one of the most compelling modern day singer/songwriters this side of Iron & Wine.  This live footage from a recent Los Angeles show at Redwood Bar Downtown (beautifully shot and put together by Adam Boren Bennet) is further proof, so dive on in!

A Fresh Breath :: The Deer ‘Look Alive’

One of the many blessings of hiding out in San Marcos for so many years has been the exposure to a wealth of very creative minds.  One of the most consistently creative groups has been The Deer.  Their songwriting is deeply textured, and their music touches upon many influences, while weaving them together as if they were a singular expression they were simple sharing instead of creating.  Look Alive was recently performed on KUTX 98.9, and as one would come to expect, they did not disappoint.  Dig it, share it, and enjoy it!
