My man Da’Shade Moonbeam seems to be in the midst of a very creative stretch in time. Spinning Shell has been keeping up with him and the recording of his new project, and webisodes are being created as completion of the project nears. Here are two of them, so that you can get a feel for what’s going on.
The folks at Join The Studio have done it again! Some studio footage of Boom Baptist has resurfaced, and it has been used to make a video for the song “Crystaline”… check it out:
I recently stumbled across a series of MC cypher videos that represent the talent in the DFW area, and they’re dope. Here’s the latest one, featuring (in order) : Colby Savage, Major Rayne, King Corleone, Sir Kutta Dufrane, and I.Q. Enjoy!
Straight from the LNS CREW comes Cory Kendrix with a nice piece of work for 2012… “Deep Thoughts” is an introspective song with a very smooth track behind it… reminiscent of when hip-hop had some substance.
Facebook and the many other social networks out there are always a great source for new local and underground music. The friendship I have built with my peers over the years has led to some great musical discoveries, and yesterday was no exception.
Courtesy of my man Ocky GoodSounds comes a recommendation from my southern IH35 neighbor San Antonio. Up to this point, I wasn’t familiar with Milli Mars, but you better believe he’s on the radar now… don’t sleep.

This video is from the 9-11 edition of The Good Life (The Eastern, Austin). I did a Stones Throw DJ set as the opener, and a group of dope DJs (DJ Charlie, Casey Cuts, S.T.A.T.I.K. and Sissy Ross) did a soundclash battle of Rhymesayers vs. Def Jux. Jason Ice threw in the live art assist. Dopeness.
Check Facebook, or whatever social networking site you use, for future Good Life events in Austin… or hell, check back here, because I’ll definitely make it known.
Big shout out to my homeboys Parking. This is the debut single from the debut album The Crown Fits. The video was shot in Austin by International Jackets. Dig it and dig it good.
