66 days ago, a freak accident led to a housefire, which led to the hospitalization of Victor Holk, his wife, and his roommate. Last night, Victor passed away. Much love to his family and friends, and may we never forget this bright shining talent that was taken from us far too soon.

Recently, the legendary Mystikal graced The Belmont with his presence. A small handful of Austin groups set up the night, and among them was The Undergrind. Already known for seamlessly mixing politics with poetry, the fellas took their moment to reflect on our importance as individuals in our daily walk in light of the recent death of Sandra Bland. After dedicating the set to her and her memory, the fellas left their heart on the stage.

New music has hit the streets from Ghost Palace, and it’s got crosshairs dead set on the temperature of the streets right now. At the risk of depressing myself, I will not list the amount of American citizens that have fallen victim to policing in the recent past, but know that Piggy serves as a deep look at the ills of those meant to protect and serve.
