Rejuvenation Raps :: Tee-Double Returns To Form With ‘Local Transplant (REworked,REbuilt,REbirth)’

It’s no secret that Austin legend and Kinetic Entertainment mogul Tee-Double is the type of creative cat that lives and breathes hip-hop, so it’s no surprise that after a run through health complications and a set of successful surgeries, Tee-Double is right back at it preparing an album rollout.  For Local Transplant (REworked,REbuilt,REbirth)Tee-Double sticks to some familiar topics (such as hip-hop culture, DIY motivation and thinking for the future rather than the now) while invigorating his rhymes with a sense of urgency fueled by recent current events, and a sonic palette that continues bang harder and get more refined as the years go by.  I definitely recommend streaming this album and sharing it with others, but most importantly (especially in this case), if you can financially support by copping a copy, do so, as all proceeds go towards the post-kidney transplant care and treatment of the man behind the music.

Clearly Defined :: Kydd Jones, Fat Tony And BoomBaptist Go In For ‘What You Mean’

The homies Kydd Jones and BoomBaptist are already legends on the Texas scene, so seeing them connect with Houston heavy-hitter Fat Tony makes all the sense in the world.  For me, the best thing about this collaboration (via the recently release What You Mean single) is just how hard everyone involved is going.  Kydd Jones continues to explore and expand the range of his more melodic style that he has stepped into, while Fat Tony brings in some hardcore lyricism as a grounding element… all of this is given the foundation of a dope, lush and super moody track from BoomBaptist.  Plain and simple, don’t sleep on this one… cop it if you can, and pass it around regardless!

Blind Faith :: Notes Floats Keeps It Going With ‘Can’t Call It’

Notes Floats is a master of lo-fi hip-hop bangers, and with his upcoming Lomax EP on the way, it looks like he is looking to continue his mellow production and thoughtful lyricism with Can’t Call It, a song about deep dedication and devotion in the face of what seems like an absence of certainty or results.  The single is a free download, so there’s no reason to not listen to it even if you don’t opt to add it to your collection, so don’t sleep on this one.

Natural Flow :: Perseph One Drops Single And Video For ‘Nurture Nature’

It feels like it’s been a minute since I heard from Perseph One, but perhaps I’ve been slipping… for years, the Houston-based MC pushed the limits of lyricism, abstract symbolism and personal expression, and Nurture Nature seems to be a continuation of all these qualities that made Perseph a household name among fans and other MCs alike.  The track is a little less noise-rap that I’m used to hearing her on, but that doesn’t change the fact that it works well for her, or that she’s still locked in lyrically.  If you’ve not yet heard of Perseph One, or it’s been a while since you’ve heard her get down, then check out this track, leave a like and a comment, and spread the word!

Fact Checking :: MAGNA CARDA Drops New Video For ‘PROPAGANDA’

Dope new video from the Austin-based duo Magna Carda… they’re always grinding, always looking out for the greater community, and first and foremost, always making sure that the music they drop is moving and powerful.  PROPAGANDA finds them focusing in on the foundationless flexing of others while being sure to reaffirm their deep dedication to securing the most for themselves and keeping their craft held in high regard.  If you dig the video, leave a like and a comment, and share it around for all to do the same.

Summertime Sadness :: Chris Conde Taps Ceschi For ‘The Summer Of Our Discontent’ Video And Single

Engulfed in the Marvelous Decay, the upcoming Chris Conde release from Fake Four Inc., drops this upcoming Sunday, and with Conde doing the work in terms of promotional rollout, it makes sense that his third (and seemingly final prerelease) single would feature a guest appearance from the always stellar and compelling Fake Four label-head and foundational artist Ceschi.  Over a very somber and spacious beat, Conde and Ceschi open up their minds and hearts about attempting to stay motivated and creative in a world that gives us reasons to believe otherwise.  The Summer of Our Discontent could soundtrack these bleak and uncertain times we’ve been navigating through lately, so if you feel like you could use a sonic remedy, check out the video, leave a like and a comment, and spread it around for all to take in.
