Spit Gemz is a beast with the bars. Ill on a level that most MCs have forgotten about these days. Dig the new album Godly Features, and as a bonus, watch him get down with Sway, Headkrak and Michael Rappaport recently on Sway’s Universe.

I have tried many times to create an instrumental album… many concepts have reached different levels of conception, only to die on the vine. Slow Burnout marks a first step in the right direction… no new ground is being broken here, but I am happy to have notched another first in the Chief and TheDoomsdayDevice belt.

In preparation for the upcoming release of the instrumental project Slow Burnout, and the as of yet untitled new solo project, I decided it was time to drop another ‘mixtape’. I locked myself down in the studio for a weekend, and after a handful of marathon sessions, I created a follow-up to A Working Class Hero (Is Something To Be). The latest installment in my series of ‘mixtapes’, Nothing Gold Can Stay is further exploration into the musical influences I embrace.
