There are TOO many people on this compilation to list, but trust me, every time that soundfounder and Butcher Bear get together to show the world what Exploded Drawing has in store for the year, it’s a hit. Throw in A Better Tomorrow handling the sonic polishing, and we’re in it to win it. I’m especially proud of this one, because I have a track on here from the upcoming instrumental release Slow Burnout, plus a collaboration from Butcher Bear‘s upcoming album with BoomBaptist. Dig it, share it, and support your local underground movement!

from the digital desk of Brzowsk:
‘Bottom Falls Out was made between Dec. 27-Jan. 4 to coincide with the beginning of the Boltcutters to Infinity European Tour in mid-January 2015. Initially, these 4 songs were packaged as a tour-only CD (with a few extra goodies that have been trimmed to make the physical special). After some thought and a bit of an outcry from our friends and supporters, we wanted to make this music available to everyone that wanted to hear it. Here you are. Spread the “Good News”.’

Every once in a while, a compilation comes along with the right mix of new and old artists, and a spirit of collaboration amongst them. Mello Music Group‘s recent release, Persona, brings those elements to you in major doses. Here’s the word straight from the source:
‘Persona unveils the murderer’s row that is the Mello roster of 2015. Oddisee, Apollo Brown, yU, L’Orange, Red Pill, Open Mike Eagle, Rapper Big Pooh, Quelle Chris. The stars of the present teamed with timeless innovators like Phonte (Little Brother), Blockhead, Ras Kass, Gift of Gab (Blackalicious), Oh No, Masta Ace, and Bilal Salaam. The result is something that binds current greats with the pioneers who paved the asphalt. It’s both a historical moment and hard as hell.’

I was a hip hop head long before skate videos started using hip hop music, but the blend of hip hop and skating has always been a beautiful union. J Kid taps into this beauty with his latest visual project, a long form video of his recent release Rhythm Roulette. Enjoy, and don’t forget to cop the album as well.

Jamar Equality won’t run out of bars. Reiner Hass is on deck this time for providing the production backdrop. The result is raw rap with an equally raw soundtrack. Definitely for fans of real hip hop. Cop that, because it’s free, and pay them back by spreading the word.
