Forming A Tapestry :: Night Of The Meek at Wreck Center

Whenever Kinder hits me up with a show, I’m on it.  I really dig the creativity coming from this young man.  He and co-collaborator Ben Nuhn  have a freeform project known as Tapestry, and Night of The Meek was my first opportunity to check them out.. peep:

Calm Child Nation :: Holding Things Down at Bat Bar

Being a native Austinite, I can attest to the fact that ANY night of the week, even a Monday, can be the livest night.  Nasty’s used to go off on Mondays… DJ Mel and DJ Baby G killed to a wall to wall house for years.

Things are no different nowadays.  I’m doing Mondays at Triple Crown, so I miss a lot of the action, but I have more than enough secondhand proof that Calm Child Nation is killing it every Monday night at Bat Bar.  Exhibit A:

Locals Done Good :: The Ghost Wolves

I love seeing my contemporaries make things happen, and Carazy Wolf is a shining example of that.  Lots of us were aspiring songwriters and musicians back in early new millenium San Marcos.  Talent was swelling from the city, and she was one of the strongest talents around.  Years later, those seeds of creation have grown into The Ghost Wolves, and all the right elements are there.  Confidence, a DIY ethic, and great talent all shine through in the latest video, Curl Up And Dye”.  Take a look for yourself:
