Patiently Waiting :: A Heartfelt Tribute To Triple Crown

Many wonderful souls grazed the hallowed stage of Triple Crown‘s former location in San Marcos, TX.  That location is currently under development as the town prepares itself for its first building over 3 stories tall that isn’t on the Texas State campus.  Meanwhile, Triple Crown new location rumors have been buzzing all around the town.  While we all wait for what we know will be its triumphant return, CPC Films and SMFC Productions have been working on a documentary to show homage to some of those good times from the past.

In the immediate days after the closing of Triple Crown, up to the date it was finally completely demolished, many musicians would gather in front of the location to sing songs and reminisce about the good times.  This video is an attempt to capture the spirit of those gatherings, and it does it quite well.

Public Domain :: ‘Cool Ranch Lunatic’ Video From Chief and TheDoomsdayDevice

In an effort to keep the masses guessing, Chief and TheDoomsdayDevice has once again dipped into the realm of public domain for an audio-visual.  This go round, Slow Burnout‘s Cool Ranch Lunatic was given a visual attachment courtesy of an army recruitment short created by the legendary Chuck Jones.  Watch a young man come undone only to re-up.

So much social media out there in the world.. it’s a wonder one can keep all of their digital expressions straight these days.  In an effort to showcase some of my lesser-known expressive outlets, this post is an introduction to the DoomsdayNOW Tumblr page showcasing the digital art of Chief and TheDoomsdayDevice.

This visual journey stars (from left to right) : The ComplimonsterDa’Shade Moonbeam, me, and MARS9T8D4.  I couldn’t pick a more creative group of guys to rewrite history with if I tried.

Family Reunion :: Exploded Drawing SXSW Compilation 2016

Every year about this time, the homies at Exploded Drawing decide to show the masses how a super talented collective holds it down.  I always look forward to SXSW time for a small handful of reasons (most having very little to do with the actual event), and this annual compilation is always at the top of that list.  Also, for the fourth time, I got a Chief and TheDoomsdayDevice track included.  Free download.. why don’t you already have it?

Stand Up :: ‘Chairs Missing’ Audio-Visual Now Available From Chief And TheDoomsdayDevice

I, Chief Doomsday, am a machine when it comes to the creativity.  I am hoping that one day the quality of my work in reality matches what I see in my head.  Every day, I make steps closer to achieving that goal.  While not a masterpiece, I feel that Chairs Missing is a major step in the right direction in terms of where I want to be.  If this is the low bar for the rest of my audio-visual output, I can accept that.

The sense of fellowship at this year’s Weird City Hip Hop Fest was something beautiful to behold.  Local talent came out heavy to represent, and the local crowds supported wonderfully.  Amidst all of the good times, many were busy networking and throwing ideas around.  During all these link-ups, NateJae Jax Da MenaceBen Buck/Filthy McNastyBig MicYou F. Oh and Philos of Hermit Kingdom tossed verbal darts on cam.  Behold, share, and support!
