5-1-2 In It :: New Music From Tee-Double

New music from an Austin legend.  Tee-Double was one of the cats that made me realize that some of the best hip-hop is made by people living the exact same life as yourself.  I may have eventually found my voice as a live hip-hop musician, but I wouldn’t have found it in the 1990s if it wasn’t for Tee-Double.  My man is still relevant today, and he’s making major moves at Kinetic Global… it may not hurt to take a peek, maybe even get involved.

Spacing Out :: JayLotus presents “Eta Carinae”

If you haven’t heard of JayLotus yet, bookmark this page, click on his name, and enjoy his Soundcloud.

(and now, to our regularly scheduled post)

from the digital desk of Haberdashery Films:

“Haberdashery Film’s first music video for our friend JayLotus from Houston, TX.  He makes great space jazz!  The title image is a photo of the Great Carina Nebula by Robert Gendler and Stephane Guisard. The brightest star is called Eta Carinae.  We’ve been affectionately calling this video Americans in Space.  It is assembled from several Creative Commons sci-fi movies found on Archive.org. Created and edited with the Adobe CS5.5 and Magic Bullet suites.”

I Can Do It In The Mix :: A New ‘Mixtape’ From Chief and TheDoomsdayDevice

Get it.  Listen to it.  Share it.  This is my ode to the music that inspires me, and part one of what will become an ongoing series.  My take on the mixtape may be a bit skewed by traditional standards, but it’s the most honest portrayal of how I feel about the music that influences me… that I love and hate… and that I want others to know I am aware of.  I also want those people to become aware of how there are common threads among music that some may not have envisioned upon first listen.

On A Lazy Afternoon :: Notes Floats’ “There Ya Go” Gets The Black Dots Treatment

Notes Floats and Fluid One Studios are back at it on the visual tip, and this time, it’s like an indie moving painting.  These guys are definitely letting their respective imaginations run wild, and the result are very memorable videos for very good songs.  “There Ya Go” originally was on The Transferbut the remix is available here.  Enjoy!
