Good Vibration :: Poolboi Blu Dives Into 2020 With ‘Sincere (Volume 013)’

You already know that I’m tuning in when poolboi blu drops a new entry into his sincere mix series, so when (volume 013) got dropped as 2020 was ushered in, it only felt fitting, as poolboi blu had one of the most significant years of any of my music making peers.  Right out the gate, this mix shows the maturity that comes with experience, and knowing where my homie’s head is at right now, I know we’re going to see nothing but bigger and better things in the future.  I see the work he’s putting in, and I’ve heard some of the plans for the future, so at this point I’m just playing the waiting game so that I can say ‘I told you so’ when he’s making noise.  Dig the mix, leave a like and a comment, and share it around so everyone can get down.

Sure Shots :: Poolboi Blu Drops ‘Sincere (Volume 012)’ And ‘Retail’ Single

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of poolboi blu‘s s i n c e r e RADIO, and a big factor in my support is his song variety.  For sincere (volume 012), the homie continued to bring the variety to the table, but the lion’s share of the mix contains banger after banger from emerging and established hip-hop artists of the few years.  According to the man himself, this mix was a fast-track used to lift him and carry him through a recent patch of ups, downs and whirlwinds that life throws us through.  If you’re looking for a shot of energy in audio form, this one comes highly recommended, so definitely check it out, leave a like and a comment, and share it around for others to do the same.

EDIT : Between the completion of this post and the date it was scheduled to drop, my man poolboi blu dropped a surprise single out of nowhere.

Rising Swag :: Poolboi Blu Hits Double Digits With ‘Sincere (Volume 010)’

You already know what it is… sincere(volume010) is officially live over at s i n c e r e R A D I O thanks to my main man poolboi blu.  Now that we’re officially in double digit territory, it sounds like poolboi blu is showing just a bit more flex in his song selection… the normal dynamic ranges of mellow to body moving are still present, but the lyrics in the song selection show just a bit more urgency than normal, and DEFINITELY are showing a whole lot more in terms of putting a foot down.  The theme for this round is definitely about recognition and making an imprint in the game, locally or otherwise, and in all honesty, poolboi deserves mad recognition.  Check out sincere(volume010), leave a comment, and share it around for others to do the same.

Best Life :: Poolboi Blu, Sincere (Volume 009) And Living The Good Life

poolboi blu has a lot to celebrate these days… his show schedule has been busy, the latest Faylita Hicks release was exclusively produced by him, he has new merch available for the summer, and poolblu.com recently went live.  poolboi blu has always been one to spread the goodness around, and it seems his idea of celebrating this latest wave of good would be via the release of the latest mix in his now iconic series, sincere (volume 009).  There’s been a bit of mellowness on the last few mixes, but for the most part, this one is a bit more high energy.  Otherwise, it’s up to par with all that you’d expect from the series… on point track selections, clean mixes and transitions, and it’s long enough for you to vibe to while being short enough to leave you anticipating the next volume.  The sincere series seems here to stay, as does poolboi blu, so do yourself a favor and get hip (if you’re not already).

Reflective Pool :: Poolboi Blu Drops ‘Sincere (Volume 008)’

A few days ago, I found myself chilling out at poolboi blu‘s crib with the homies gost, Pink Ranger and a few more folks.  We were watching the Rockets beat the Warriors and basically having a good time in anticipation of the Pecan Street Festival that weekend, but while most of us were hanging out, poolboi blu was in work mode, putting together the mix that would become sincere (volume 008).  For this session, we find a series of reflectively lyrical songs with extremely heavy rhythms, all of which are definitely complete vibe-setters.  As always, the mixing is on point, the song selection is way ahead of the curve, and poolboi blu continues to drive home the culture and aesthetic he has created for himself.  Dig it, leave a comment, and share it around.

Funky Dividends :: Poolboi Blu Drops ‘Shmoney’

If feels like poolboi blu just blessed us with ANTSY, but clearly, he is not one to rest on his laurels.  After ‘taking January off’ like a lot of us creatives did (taking the month off being tongue in cheek, as we were still putting in work), poolboi blu is back in full swing for February with a follow-up track drop to his latest entry in the sincere mix series.  The track, shmoney, is a Cardi B flip with the distinct characteristics of both the sampler and the sampled present.  As a bit of a bonus, the mutual homie Red Comet stepped up with a video flip as well that perfectly suits the track.

You already know what it is.  poolboi blu drops a new volume in the sincere series, and folks should take notice.  For sincere (volume 007), poolboi blu decided to focus on diversity even more so than usual, in terms of tempo, tone and cut selection.  The result is another seamless mix, but one with plenty of dynamics, and not just for flash, but rises and falls that take you on a bit of a journey through a handful of newer songs and current favorites.  If you haven’t been lucky enough to catch poolboi blu live lately, or if you’ve just been stuck on Antsy, don’t sleep on sincere (volume 007), because the series is alive and well.

Every time the homeboy poolboi blu makes moves it makes me happy to know I’m in league with such creative and motivated people.  After a successful run of several mixes in his sincere mix series, poolboi blu was tapped by Brown State of Mind to create a mix for their Flora Sound series.  The series, a showcase of Austin-based DJs, fits right in line with poolboi‘s eclectic range and refined tastes, making N°3 a standout piece.  poolboi made sure to cover the hip-hop, R&B, rock, electronic and remix bases perfectly on this one.  Give it a like, give it a comment it, and share it around so that everyone can get down.

Quiet Confidence :: Poolboi Blu Drops ‘Sincere (Volume 006)’

It’s common knowledge that I’m a fan of poolboi blu‘s sincere series of mixes.  His taste in music is always refreshing, and his song selection is cutting edge… often way ahead of the normal curve.  With sincere (volume 006), we find poolboi blu making moves in the higher BPM range, but with much more reserved confidence than high-energy performances in the rhymes and singing.  The mix is longer than normal, but with the sounds you’re getting, that’s a good thing.  It’s good to know that the sincere series will hopefully continue into 2019 and beyond.  Definitely give this one some listens, some shares, and maybe even a few bucks so that poolboi blu can enjoy the holiday season properly.
