United Front :: ‘Face Facts’ With SniperShot’s New Music Video

SniperShot is the closest thing that Texas hip-hop seems to have to a shaman, and after an extended vision quest at sea, the groovy guru has returned to educate and enlighten the streets.  His first foray, the Chainz-produced single titled Face Facts, is full of SniperShot‘s signature swagger and observational darts.  Add to this a video full of trippy and showcase-style visuals, courtesy of Minott Media, and it’s obvious that SniperShot has yet another classic song and video in his catalog.  Check out the video, leave a like and a comment if you dig it, and share it around for all to enjoy.

Double Dosage :: Gost 915 Drops A Pair Of New Singles

The homie Gost 915 has consistently been one of the realest and most honest MCs I’ve had the pleasure to call a friend, so once I learned that he would be relocating from the Austin area to the Philadelphia area, I was ready to hear what the move would present in terms of new music.  We didn’t have to wait long, as this past week Gost dropped a pair of singles that properly put us up to speed.  Both of the tracks are somber, mellow selections, with SKRT (Gone) and Spinning. both offering revealing looks into Gost‘s mindstate during this transition.  I could offer interpretation, but it’d be a pointless venture, as Gost has always been able to deliver creative lyrics that tell their own tale.  Check out the tracks, leave likes and comments if you feel them, and spread them around for all to enjoy.

Core Sounds :: Chris Conde Releases ‘Earth’ Single And Video

It’s funny how ahead of the curve some MCs can be.  Chris Conde released Conde Digital as a part of Fake Four Records FreeCember promotion, and nearly six months later, his second single Earth is so pertinent that it could have been written yesterday.  Over an ominous, ambient, grimey track courtesy of Moodie Black‘s KDeathConde goes in with some extremely urgent and direct pleas to reason as he breaks down just how interconnected we are with the Earth against how neglectful we tend to be.  Thanks to collaborator Wayne Fau, the message is delivered without Conde‘s signature visual flashes, instead opting for minimal effects and portrait-style presentations of Conde‘s vital message.  Dig the video, leave a like and a comment if you’re feeling it, and share it around for all to experience.

Search Continues :: Light Feather And DK Thundah Present ‘Better Way’ Single

My discovery of YNGLDY has been a fruitful one for sure, as it introduced me to producer DK Thundah and his creative world.  Recently, he hooked up with Light Feather for Better Way, a moving mood-setter of a single that combines dream-pop and cloud rap nearly perfectly.  Light Feather‘s vocals and lyrics are chill-inducing, and DK Thundah not only produced an extremely strong background track, but added a very solid guest verse as well.  DK Thundah even took to the internet later to provide a breakdown of how he created the background track :

Check out the single and the beat breakdown, leave likes and comments if you dig, and share it around for others to do the same!

New Life :: (RAS) Riders Against The Storm Rejuvenates ‘Is It?’ With Ayuma Remix And Video

As the majority of the world remains locked inside due to shelter-in-place measures, many of us are forced to live life as it once was through our memories of what was.  Dance parties tend to be one of the things that people long for, which is what makes (RAS) Riders Against the Storm‘s update to their 2008 single Is It? special, among other things.  The remix, courtesy of Ayuma, has a bounce and vibrance that pulls you in, and the accompanying dance footage (including footage from (RAS)‘s Body Rock Ten Year Anniversary) bolsters that pull by nearly encouraging the viewer to get up and freestyle dance along with the footage.  This dose of mood booster is definitely a strong way to start the week running, so dig it, leave a like and a comment, and share it around for everyone to enjoy.

Fantasy Pop :: Flora & Fawna’s Magnificent ‘Slow Burn’ Video

Austin alt-pop duo Flora & Fawna, the dynamic duo of singer-songwriter Lili Hickman Waldon and producer, multi-instrumentalist Mason Ables, have left an amazing debut impression on me with their single Slow Burn.  The song itself is a dreamy, dancy tune that could easily be mistaken for the likes of Little Dragon with its dancey vibe, harmonized lyrical performance and earworm-ish nature.  The experience is amplified by the video, a brief masterpiece directed by Kirk Van Sickle and crew that feels like a mix of Mandy and The Neon Demon streamlined to under four minutes.  This is how a debut should be made, and I will certainly be one of those front and center for the follow-up single and eventual album.  Until then, check out the video, leave a like and a comment if you’re feeling it, and share it around for everyone to enjoy!

Personal Evaluation :: BlackLight Releases Video For ‘Lose Patience’

After releasing King Vibez Only last December, it’s nice to see that BlackLight isn’t planning on resting upon his recent laurels.  His latest single and music video, Lose Patience, is a high energy injection of audio and visual stimulus, all of which is live and direct with the intention of grabbing the attention of the listener/viewer and maintaining a strong grip.  The bouncy track serves as a roaming ground for BlackLight‘s lyrics of personal victories and rewards reaped, as well as warnings to anyone with intentions of derailing the trajectory.  The video is up close, personal, colorful and intense, all of which gives it a surprising strength and boldness despite its simpler nature and approach.  Overall, this is definitely phenomenal work, and wonderfully surprising growth from an artist who has already more than fulfilled his early promise.  Check it out, leave a like and a comment, and share it around for everyone to experience.

Happy Hour :: The Vapor Caves (Possibly) Wrap Up ‘Shelter In Caves!’

As April comes to a close, it seems that The Vapor Caves are also bringing Shelter in Caves! to a close as well.  For what could be the final episode, BoomBaptist and Yadira Brown shared a new song or two, took dedication requests from the viewing audience, and even shared a recipe for a special margarita.  While it is possible that the duo may extend their run into May, nothing concrete has been announced yet, but fingers crossed, we will continue to get content from the two in this format as long as shelter in place is a thing.  Until then, check out the existing episodes, leave a like and a comment, and share it around for all to enjoy!

Larp Arts :: Rob From Garden Street’s Joy Filled ‘FEEL’ Video

(iN)Sect Records has been busy as of late, with a steady stream of releases hitting the masses in rapid-fire fashion.  One of the latest gems is FEEL, a music video from new label artist Rob From Garden Street that embraces larp culture over a lo-fi breakbeat that sounds directly off of a YouTube playlist.  Dig the video, leave a like and a comment, share it around, and stay tuned for Rob From Garden Street‘s debut album, which is coming soon.

Jam Session :: BoomBaptist Goes Big With ‘Boom Shakalaka’ Release

a3472445872_10

BoomBaptist has become a master of the album rollout over the past year or so, as the multi-faceted promotional campaign for The Vapor Caves proved.  Boom put his creative genius to use once again for the release of Boom Shakalaka, his latest solo release on (iN)Sect Records.  Anybody who knows Boom knows he loves basketball, with the legendary video game NBA Jams playing a large role in that love affair, so it makes complete sense that the aesthetic of Boom Shakalaka would be inspired by and centered around the game and its connected culture.  The music speaks for itself, with Boom‘s signature swing and drum patterns nesting the multitude of samples perfectly.  To crown the event, Boom even performed live from inside an NBA Jam cabinet :

Check it out all, cop some of that merch, and spread the word!
