Syndicated Soul :: The Vapor Caves Continue ‘Shelter In Caves’ Series

Week three of Shelter in Caves, a weekly hour-long stream brought to you by the Austin-based electrofunk outfit The Vapor Caves, was all about sharing new songs and fielding questions from the scenes.  Other than slight technical issues on Instagram, the stream was wildly successful, with the new songs shared not only sounding great, but getting folks excited for what the band has scheduled for release at some point in the future.  If you’re not already hip to Shelter in Caves, check it out every Tuesday night on your favorite social platform at 6 PM CST.

Props Session :: DoWrong Drops ‘Ambition’ Video

Austin mainstay DoWrong has never been one lacking the confidence to plant his flag as a top tier MC, and with his latest single Ambition, he’s got a proper anthem.  After connecting with Big&Little Productions, a video was made that shows how you can still have plenty of style and flash without a million cuts or locations.  The long take method works well, as it compliments the lyrical drive that DoWrong puts into the song, as well as the very memorable hook that stays with you after the track is done.  Check it out for yourself, leave a like and a comment if you dig it, and share it around to get the numbers up.

Sharing Session :: BoomBaptist Takes Over ‘Shelter In Caves’ With Birthday Beat Set

With BoomShakaLaka right around the corner, it’s no surprise that BoomBaptist took the opportunity to do a special solo set for episode two of Shelter In Caves.  After celebrating his birthday the day prior, Boom jumped online to share new and old tracks, answer questions, and generally bring entertainment to the multitudes of us forced to shelter in place.  The Vapor Caves host Shelter In Caves every Tuesday during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it streams everywhere, so check it out live if you can, and find a replay if you can’t!

Mental Stamina :: Mirage The Gr8 And Rex Gito Drop ‘Outta Mind’ Video

As the creative partnership between Mirage the Gr8 and myself continues, I’ve been lucky enough to stay busy with video edits on his music videos and other upcoming projects.  The latest video, a collaboration between himself and Rex Gito titled Outta Mind, came out very nice in my opinion.  Mirage and company gathered great shots in the Dallas area, including a series of stellar rooftop performance shots, which allowed me some artistic freedom and leaway in the edit suite.  This one is a strong final product, period point blank, so check it out, leave a like and a comment if you dig it, and share it around!

Letting Go :: eBurner Releases Video For ‘Gotta Keep On’

From the digital desk of eBurner :

‘If you could use a good laugh, my new music video is now live for my song Gotta Keep On.  As some of you may already know, this song is about heartbreak.  Heartbreak is never funny, but I believe that a little humor can occasionally help us take control of the situation and overcome the overwhelming emotions associated with rejection.  Heartbreak is real and everybody’s been through it.  My hope is that my story will bring us together to laugh, and release a little bit of the pain and we cope.’

If you dig it, leave a like and a comment, share it around, and stay tuned in to eBurner for more music!

Live Direct :: The Vapor Caves Create ‘Shelter In Caves’ Web Series

With varying degrees of ‘shelter in place’ rules in effect all over the nation, many artists have been forced to become inventive with presentation and performance methods.  The Vapor Caves, who have always been ahead of the curve in terms of content, decided to take the opportunity to turn the internet into their broadcast network by creating Shelter in Caves, a web series featuring live performances of their music and sketches created by the duo and their collaborators.  BoomBaptist and Yadira Brown are natural entertainers with great chemistry, and they really make the program work, with episode one even including the premier of a brand new song.  With the first episode completed and more to come, I’m certainly looking forward to what’s in store.  The episodes air on Tuesday nights across all streamable platforms, so if you’re interested in catching the show, follow The Vapor Caves wherever you watch your social media videos, and support your local creatives!

Broadcast News :: TrumpCard Submits ‘Cult 45’ To NPR Tiny Desk Contest

With an extension announced on the NPR Tiny Desk Contest due to social distancing measures having been issued, many bands are taking advantage of the opportunity.  TrumpCard, who has been very busy in the recording studio as of late, took the time to collaborate with Christopher Paul Cardoza to record an entry for Cult 45, another blistering examination of our president’s cult of personality he has created.  The song speaks loudly and clearly for itself, and Cardoza captured the essence of the band’s biting political satire perfectly.  Let’s hope this one makes some noise during the contest, as this message is as timely as any that will probably be submitted.  Leave a like, a comment, and share it around to help the numbers and buzz grow!

Cyber Sessions :: Blackillac’s ‘Live AF Stream’

As the United States and most of the world continues to practice social distancing in hopes of flattening the Coronavirus curve, many of us are holding hopes that the live entertainment industry can survive in some sort of version that resembles what it used to be.  In the meantime, legions of artists have taken to streaming live performances in order to fill in the boredom void inevitably created by the stay-at-home measures.  One of the many artists who put out streams early was Blackillac, and recently they uploaded one of these shows to YouTube in its entirety.  Check it out, leave a like and a comment if you dig it, and share it around to help keep everyone entertained.

Rise Above :: Mirage The Gr8 Drops ‘Level Up’ Video

My continued working relationship with Mirage the Gr8 has really and truly been beneficial for both parties.  Mirage gets to see his ideas come to fruition, and I get to sharpen my tools as an editor.  One of the pieces of work I’m most proud of is Level Up, a collaboration between MirageTerrence Side Effect‘ Wood and Chip Lurk.  Originally, this video was meant to be exclusive content for an upcoming project we are working on, but in spite of everyone practicing social distancing and staying home, Mirage figured that now was the time to drop the video.  All parties involved are proud of this work, so definitely check it out, leave a like and a comment, and spread it around for others to do the same.
