Master Entertainment :: LucioPro Stops By ‘Rappers Playing Games’

Rapper, entertainer, comedian and motorcycle enthusiast LucioPro recently stopped by Baby Lion‘s Rappers Playing Games (RPG), hosted by Protextor, to play some Ninja Gaiden II and speak on a random set of topics, including his interest.  The pair blaze through the first few levels of the game, talk about the differences between rich time-off and poor time-off, speak on LucioPro‘s releases (NerdCore and otherwise), and genuinely share moments of inspiration.  (RPG) is always a blast to watch, and LucioPro continues the lineage of interesting guests, so if you’re digging the series like I am, be sure to like, comment and share this video (and any other Baby Lion content you might like).

Moving Pictures :: Tåsi Releases Music Video For ‘Reflect’

I recently stumbled across the music video for Reflect, the latest single by Tåsi, and was struck by the artistic quality of the images, and how perfectly they matched the well crafted song by Tåsi and his producer Malekhino.  The entire affair has a cinematic quality to it, like a Bergman or Altman film with a camera that resembles a spirit moving.  The feel matches what Tåsi speaks about in terms of introspection, taking personal inventory, and as the title states, reflection on your journey.  Definitely a gem worth spreading around… and be sure to leave a like and a comment when you do share it.

Punctuated Moments :: Wild Child Releases New Music Video For ‘Sinking Ship’

I’ve always believed that a possible key to the continued success of Wild Child would be song placement in TV shows or films, and the release of Sinking Ship in music video form, for my money, has validated that feeling.  Rather than focusing on members of the band, this video instead decides to lay out a visual narrative, with the song bolstering the emotional moments we are allowed to experience between the young couple the video focuses on.  The acting is poignant, and without a word uttered, it is easy to feel what each character is going through, and this is largely due to the music Wild Child serving as the guide.  Each new video they release confirms my fandom of the group further… definitely check this one out.

Unified Minds :: SniperShot Releases ‘We Are One’ Music Video

My man SniperShot can always be counted on for positive vibes, enriching lyrics, dope video ideas, and doper execution.  His latest magnum opus comes in the form of We Are One, an affirmation that, no matter what you’re going through or experiencing, you are not doing it alone in the greater scope of things.  The idea is transmitted via a clever visual editing trick that works extremely well.  Definitely check this one out, share it around, and like/comment it up!

Mind Melt :: Chief And TheDoomsdayDevice + Lo Phi Call On Jeffrey Garcia For ‘Crying Freeman’ Video

After a couple of low key releases the past couple of years, it’s nice to be doing things properly for 2019 once again.  In the wake of Lo Phi and myself collaborating on Uncanny Valley, I felt it was only proper that the album be given at least one music video to accompany it.  Enter mad genius Jeffrey Garcia, who got with me over the holidays (as well as his band of collaborators you can find in the projects at his Jeffy’s Playhouse YouTube channel) and created a visual blitz to match the sonic assault to the senses that is Crying Freeman.  I’m very happy with the quality of the video and the initial reception, and I’m hoping that the rest of you are impressed by the work that Jeffrey Garcia put in for this one.  If you dig it, share it around, leave it a like and a comment, and go check out the entire album on Bandcamp (and all other music services beginning roughly around January 15).

Cosmic Nostalgia :: Riders Against The Storm And Ayuma Combine Forces For A ‘Reminisce’ Remix

Riders Against the Storm (RAS), more so than any other group I am lucky enough to consider a peer, embody a fullness of culture that is sorely lacking in hip-hop today.  Not only do they represent where they were born, raised, and currently reside, but they have a keen knowledge of their music and cultural roots across a wide span of eras, even down to the indigenous roots of the rhythm and dress.  For Reminisce (Ayuma Remix), the duo teamed up with producer Ayuma to create a trip down memory lane with a driving beat as the tour guide.  The lyric video further embraces the influences of each group member individually, as well as (RAS) as a collective, and it hits all the right nostalgia-centered marks.  Leave a comment, like the video, and share it around so everyone can enjoy and do the same!

Live Vibes :: Stereofiend Visits Untapped SMTX For A Live Performance

Over the last 6 months or so (it seems), there have been a handful of bands promoting live performances at the Fire Station Studios in San Marcos, all of which I’ve unfortunately missed due to my own gigs.  Recently, Stereofiend took part in one of these performances, and Untapped SMTX documented the event for their YouTube channel.  The band is on point for this one, with every member getting plenty of opportunity to shine.  Check it out, leave a like or comment, and share it around so others can enjoy as well!

Manifesto Music :: T$O Releases Video For ‘Only The Trill’

Reality rap is the closest thing to a documentary in the world of music, in my opinion, and Austin is a city that thrives on that aesthetic.  Recently, Austin-based MC $.dot and producer Eric Dingus joined forces for the T$O (Trill $hit Only) project, and their whole vibe is all about the realness.  In their video for lead single Only The Trill$.dot talks about the pedigree of people he has in his corner and has aligned himself with, all over a Mobb Deep-esque beat by Eric Dingus.  The video looks like a million bucks thanks to the expertise of Super Thing Productions, with smooth tracking shots and artistically framed setups meant to further the written messages.  This one is definitely worth your time, so definitely check it out, leave a like and a comment, and share it around.

Run Through :: Secret Levels And Protextor Deep Dive Into ‘Ninja Gaiden’ For ‘Rappers Playing Games (RPG)’

Secret Levels is an expert and an aficionado in a wide range of skill sets.  Be it skateboarding, rhyming, breakdancing, acting, or being a general entertaining guy, Secret Levels is running on a wavelength that many only dream of.  It’s no surprise, then, that he would be able to join Protextor for the latest session of Rappers Playing Games (RPG), pick one of the hardest games in Nintendo‘s existence in the form of Ninja Gaiden, and subsequently run through it like a hot knife through butter.  During the one-life run through, Secret Levels and Protextor discuss being in harmony with your being, the secrets to mastering yourself via your art, tips for running through Ninja Gaiden, and so much more.  As per usual, support Baby Lion and the Rappers Playing Games (RPG) series via likes, comments, shares and subscribes, and behold the amazing feat that is Secret Levels making light work of a difficult classic.
